The Bukit Jalil Recreation Park Trail: Why It’s Bucket List Worthy

Weekends are short– way too fast. It seems to take forever for them to come around. And, when they finally do show, they almost seem to disappear into the air. So, if you value your weekend as a commodity that is unique and high-value, you’ve got to be sure that wherever you’ll be spending, it is well worth your while.

In this regard, Bukit Jalil Recreation Park promises not to disappoint!

Popularly called Taman Rekreasi Bukit Jalil by the locals, this park for walking and running sits on 80 acres. Most importantly, gentle slopes cover the Bukit Jalil Recreation Park trail map. However, this area also has a few spots with much steeper slopes and stretches.

Whether you’re after a laid-back and leisurely stroll on well-paved pathways or you want to work up a sweat on ungraded terrain and need a nice little challenge to get you pumped up, you’re more than covered here.

One thing that makes this location breathtaking for me is the perfect view of the tamed nature that it presents. Right from the crowded Bukit Jalil recreational park parking spot to the more secluded walking trails, visitors are treated to exquisite sights of nature at its gentlest.

Moreover, you can have just as much fun if you get off these beautiful Kuala Lumpur running routes.

Some of the amazing things you get treated to along the Bukit Jalil Park jogging distance include:

  • The reflexology path
  • A well-designed children’s playground
  • A heliconia garden
  • A serene lake
  • Several great picnic spots under tree shades.

The Bukit Jalil Park Jogging Distance

When most families in the Kuala Lumpur area are looking for a great outdoor spot for an active day out, the Bukit Jalil Recreation Park usually ranks top on the list of options.

Located a mere 20 km from the city’s heart, the Bukit Jalil Stadium jogging track distance features two different entry points. The easy access and entry points to this great site contribute much to the popularity of the walking trails.

Walking across the well-paved pathways scattered across the Bukit Jalil recreation park trail map, you will indeed be enveloped by the serene atmosphere. Further down your hike, you’ll stumble across a peaceful lake that further adds to the charm of the setting and is great for evening dates.

You’ll also see many young and older people take advantage of the walking trails to get some quality steps in.

However, beyond everything mentioned so far, one of the biggest charms of this location that you have simply got to check out is the Laman Antarabangsa– Bukit Jalil’s international garden. Here, you’ll be regaled with depictions of gardens used to represent ten different nations of the world.

In no particular order, these are:

  1. The England Garden: It’s super popular as a spot for wedding photographs)
  2. The Japan Garden: Notable for its well-designed tea house
  3. The China Garden: Filled with lots of finely crafted sculptures
  4. The Holland Garden: The home of an impressive Dutch windmill
  5. The Iran Courtyard Garden: Finely decorated with fountains and tiles
  6. The Canada Garden: Packed full of non-native and beautiful flowers
  7. The Peru Garden: Known for its rugged, natural beauty
  8. The Indonesia Garden: Markedly known for its minimalist design
  9. The Thailand Garden: Where hikers are treated to a tastefully designed bell structure
  10. The Malaysia Garden: Filled with a wide array of traditional Malaysian edifices.

Admission Into This Local Neighborhood Park

Everything on the Bukit Jalil Stadium map, including the Taman Bukit Jalil running club, is managed and operated directly or indirectly by Kuala Lumpur City Hall. As such, you’ll probably be happy to know you’re allowed access to this location at zero charge!

You’ll also be happy that the Bukit Jalil Recreational Park parking space is huge. And the parking is free of charge, too. Thanks to that, stowing your vehicle away for the day won’t present any hassle.

However, you should know that this trail has designated visiting hours. These start by 7:00 AM and end by 8:00 PM. If you’re caught on the site before or after this time frame, you’re considered as a trespasser.

What to Remember When Planning Your Walking Trails

The most important thing to remember when planning to hike this destination is that Bukit Jalil Recreation Park is home to many wild monkeys. You need to make a conscious effort to steer clear of these creatures.

It’s important to stress the above because these monkeys’ looks and playful antics will naturally reel you in. However, if you only sometimes observe them from a distance, these guys can turn on you on a dime!

Word of caution– Avoid feeding them or, worse, provoking them. That story isn’t likely to have a happy ending.

So, just stay away from the monkeys! But if feeding is your favorite pastime, go ahead with the fish in the pond. And if you’re lucky, you might stumble upon a few flamingos.

It’s also worth mentioning that while Taman Bukit Jalil has not quite been well maintained for the most part, so a few of the facilities and hard landscaping on the site are starting to show their age. It also doesn’t help that this particular district of the region is undergoing major developments, and its green spaces become smaller each year.

Considering this, you should plan your trip to this destination sooner rather than later.

How To Get To Bukit Jalil Park

Depending on factors like which route you’ll be coming in from as well as the nature of the hike or walk and other activities you have in mind, there are essentially two ways that the wonders of this location can be accessed: through the Bukit Jalil Recreational Park Entrance 1 and Bukit Jalil Recreational Park Entrance 2.

The most commonly used ingress point is Jalan Jalil Perkasa 1. This entrance point is just off the Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil. Once you see the Calvary Convention Centre (with its remarkably unorthodox design, you can’t possibly miss it!), look opposite, see the Bukit Jalil Recreational Park parking space, and you can make your way in from there.
